The recreation park has four shelters, Browning, RECC, DeKalb and Lake, which may be reserved May through October. These shelters have reservation fees by the day on weekends, but may be reserved without charge on weekdays. Mason County residents receive a $20 discount on shelter rentals.

Browning Shelter

The Browning Shelter offers adjacent restrooms, a stage, electric, and partial kitchen (no stove or refrigerator); overlooking the lake and easily accessible to playground, swimming facility, and other park amenities. Seats approximately 400 people.

Reservations required: $80

Reservation fee must be paid when reservation is made. Shelters will not be “held” for payment. Charges will not be invoiced.

DeKalb Shelter

The DeKalb Shelter seats approximately 125 people and is located next to putt-putt golf course, playground, BarkPark and public restrooms. It is convenient to other park amenities.

Reservations required: $60

The RECC Shelter overlooks the lake, has an adjacent small, fenced playground, is convenient to other park amenities, and seats approximately 100 people.

Reservation fee must be paid when reservation is made. Shelters will not be “held” for payment. Charges will not be invoiced.

Lake Shelter
The Lake Shelter

The Lake Shelter sits on a rise overlooking the north side of the lake. It is best accessed by car. There is water, electric, and restrooms. It seats approximately 100 people.

Reservation fee must be paid when reservation is made. Shelters will not be “held” for payment. Charges will not be invoiced.

They may be used on a first come,
first served basis.

Charcoal grills are available at shelters upon request when making reservations. There is electricity at all shelters.

**There is no charge to use the shelters during the week, but reservations are recommended.

Shelters may be reserved from May through October. Reservations may be made no more than one year in advance and payment must be made when reservation is made. There will be no reimbursements of fees on cancelled reservations, and no credits held from one year to the next. If cancelled more than 30 days prior to reservation, another date can be reserved within the same year. There are no credits or reimbursements for “rain days.”

Credit cards can be used for phone reservations at 606-564-9419. Reservations can also be made in person with cash, check, or credit card at at Maysville Municipal Building, 216 Bridge St. (above the utility office). Reservations and payments may be made 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
