626 Forest Avenue
Maysville, KY 41056
Since James M. Finch and Charles Clarke brought radio to Maysville January 1, 1948, WFTM has provided listeners in Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio an encapsulated reflection of their lives, covering the people, places and things that make our area unique.
Through the years WFTM has been recording our area’s history as it happens. Built inside a tobacco warehouse, the first song played on WFTM was Hank Thompson’s Smoke Smoke Smoke That Cigarette. A lot of history suffuses the air of WFTM–Presidents, Politicians, Celebrities and other newsmakers have shared their stories on the air.
Stop by the station and hear how WKYO became WFTM thanks to a country ham and a hand of burley tobacco.
See photos of announcers past and present, who have included the Twilight Lady, Dorothy Wood…legendary Maysville Coach Earle D. Jones…Olivette Rolph, the aunt of singer and Maysville native Rosemary Clooney…award-winning newscaster and television host Nick Clooney and more.
Today, you can hear WFTM Soft 96 and Kool AM-1240 on the radio, online, and via your smart phone. Because while the times have changed, WFTM’s commitment to our community has not.
WFTM is manned by General Manager and 30-year radio veteran Robert Roe, 10th Region Hall Of Fame Sportscaster Danny Weddle, News Director Dave Gray, Sales Rep Ben Smith and Traffic and Billing Manager Lisa Jarrell.
