Economic Development Director

Maysville-Mason County Industrial Development Authority, Maysville, Kentucky

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Applicant must be a proven leader and able to provide direction for short and long-term strategic planning; as well as have a demonstrated knowledge of economic development, business recruitment, governmental affairs and public finance.  A minimum of five years of economic development experience is preferred.  Economic Development credentials are preferred; years of successful experience may substitute for education and credentials. Effective written, oral and presentation skills are a must, as the successful candidate will regularly communicate with existing and prospective employers as well as the general public.  Strong listening skills and inclusiveness will be keys to success in this position.


The Economic Development Director is responsible for and reports to the Maysville-Mason County Industrial Authority but will participate in all economic development projects in the county that may include but is not limited to industrial, commercial and retail developments as well as port development projects. A job description is provided but the future may hold to move to promotion of a regional component.
