Human Rights Commission Votes to Pursue Community & Restorative Justice

The Maysville Commission on Human Rights voted Thursday to pursue the formation of a community and restorative justice program. All four members present voted in favor of exploring such a program.

Community and restorative justice is meant to go beyond the traditional justice model in order to lessen crime, aid those re-entering society from prison, and reduce community conflicts among other things.

A meeting is being planned to better inform and seek input from the wider community.
