Runners, shoppers, dancers and zombies, oh my!

Halloween schedule

Whether you’re a health conscious dog lover or a karaoke singing zombie, you won’t want to miss this full day of Halloween activities in downtown Maysville on Saturday!

It all starts at noon with trick or treating fun for kids at downtown stores and Pickers & Grinners Outdoor Market at Limestone Park. There will be games and treats at Mason County Public Library from 1-3 p.m. and showings of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown at the Russell Theater.

Pickers & Grinners Market will go from noon to 9 p.m. with locally grown produce and handcrafted goods, food, drink, music, and special dance performances at 8 and 8:30 p.m. by Safiya Nawaar.

The annual Run for Your Life 5K Run/2MI Walk will start at 7 p.m. in front of Lasting Impressions Salon. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. Proceeds from Run for Your Life go to Buffalo Trace Humane Society.

From 7-10 p.m., DJ LaShawn will be set up at Limestone Landing to contribute to the Halloween party atmosphere of Run for Your Life and the Bridge Lights Celebration. Join him there for a dance party. The more the merrier!

Join the community on the Simon Kenton Bridge to celebrate this iconic landmark. Glow necklaces will be handed out at the top of the bridge access stairs on each end of the bridge. Participants may also use their phone flashlights or download a music strobe app to their phone to help “light the bridge.” A drone will be videoing the festivities so lets give it a good show. The Simon Kenton Bridge will be closed to traffic 7-10 p.m.

Following the Bridge Lights Celebration will be the Thriller Walk starting at Market and Second streets. It will proceed down Second to Sutton and into the graveyard behind Kentucky Gateway Museum Center for a Rave at the Grave Karaoke event.

With the exception of the Simon Kenton Bridge, all these events are within the Entertainment Destination Center so open alcohol is permitted. However:

  • Drinks must be in plastic cups and purchased from licensed a vendor (bar/restaurant/event)
  • Drinks cannot be taken outside EDC boundary or brought in from elsewhere
  • Public intoxication is still unlawful
  • Drinking and driving is still unlawful

Additional trash receptacles have been located in the downtown. Help keep Maysville clean and beautiful by throwing refuse in a container.
