Happy New Year to each and every one. The City was told this week by Columbia Gas that their contractor, RLA, will be back working on Third Street starting on Monday, January 10th. This work will include service tie-ins between Market Street and Limestone street as well as attaching the new lines at most of the street intersections. We anticipate this work lasting approximately 30-45 days, weather dependent. They will also be completing the service tie-ins on Fourth Street (old hill) from the curb-line to the residences. RLA is currently on Forest Avenue doing service tie-ins from Commerce Street to Main Street. Once each cut is completed (for all projects), cold-patch asphalt will be put down to get us through the winter. Once the paving plants open up, all of Third Street will be completely milled and repaved, and the parking lanes on Forest Avenue will be milled and paved upon completion of the tie-ins. We apologize for the inconvenience.
